MGMA Architects is an independent practice grounded in the principles of community and shared spaces. Working frequently in conservation and heritage sectors, they have a combined comprehension of the built environment, making informed and strategic architectural interventions for the benefit of those that have a stake in the designs.

MGMA are comfortable in providing design that enriches peoples’ relationship with space. The process often involves hands-on workshops, conferences and community open days to engage with clients’ voices. Being a critical friend to clients and stakeholders results in inclusive environments that connect to those that inhabit them, from the general public in commercial spaces to young people in private therapy spaces.

Spanning from public realm to private projects, MGMA focuses on meaningful placemaking that is responsive and rooted in local context, celebrating the identity of place and people.

Variation in both portfolio and practice members provides a diverse understanding of materiality, craftsmanship and utility that spans across a number of sectors- conservation, education, residential, community, placemaking. Work from MGMA centres on the notion of a level of care in design and a creative process driven by thoughtful research and communication through dialogue.
